Fiberglass Angle Steel

Fiberglass angle, also known as FRP angle or GRP angle profile, is a pultruded structural component designed for support, reinforcement, and framing applications in industrial environments.

Traditional metal angle steel and channel steel are prone to rust and corrosion in humid and corrosive environments, leading to decreased strength and shortened service life. The emergence of fiberglass profiles perfectly solves these problems.

Products Description

FRP angle, also known as fiberglass angle or GRP L profile, is a pultruded structural profile made from fiberglass-reinforced plastic designed for support, reinforcement, and framing applications in industrial environments.

Compared with traditional steel angles, FRP angles offer excellent corrosion resistance, lightweight structure, and long service life, making them ideal for chemical plants, marine structures, wastewater treatment systems, and electrical installations.

We supply standard and custom FRP L-shaped angles for global industrial projects.

Traditional metal angle steel and channel steel are prone to rust and corrosion in humid and corrosive environments, leading to decreased strength and shortened service life. The emergence of fiberglass profiles perfectly solves these problems.

Fiberglass Angle Steel

FRP angle is a L-shaped structural profile manufactured using the pultrusion process. It is widely used for load-bearing support, structural reinforcement, and frame construction in corrosive or high-moisture environments where steel would fail.

1. Specifications: Usually expressed as "side width × side width × thickness", for example, 50mm × 50mm × 5mm. A wide range of sizes are available, from small (e.g., 20x20x3) to large (e.g., 100x100x10).

2. Main Applications

Due to its "L"-shaped structure, it is ideal for use as reinforcing ribs, supporting structures, and frames.

Structural Frames: Used to assemble supporting frames for equipment platforms, walkways, and ladders.

Reinforcing Ribs: Attached to fiberglass sheets or storage tanks as reinforcing ribs, significantly improving the overall structural strength.

Supporting Components: Used as cable trays, pipe supports, or brackets in corrosive environments.

Electrical Fields: Used as equipment supports and insulating structural components for non-conductive materials.

Types of FRP Angle

1. Equal FRP Angle

  • Same length on both sides

  • Most common structural type

  • Used in framing and supports

2. Unequal FRP Angle

  • Different side lengths

  • Flexible structural design

  • Used for customized reinforcement

3. Heavy Duty FRP Angle

  • Thick wall construction

  • High load-bearing performance

  • Industrial-grade applications

4. Pultruded FRP Angle

  • Manufactured via pultrusion process

  • High strength & dimensional stability

  • Smooth surface finish

5. Custom FRP Angle

  • Special dimensions & thickness

  • Drilled or modified profiles

  • OEM production available

Typical Application Scenarios

Chemical Industry: Operating platforms, equipment frames, guardrail systems.

Wastewater Treatment Plants: Maintenance platforms, ladders, sludge scraper supports.

Offshore Platforms & Ships: Deck supports, equipment supports.

Power Industry: Substation insulation platforms, cable supports.

Food and Beverage Industry: Equipment supports resistant to moisture and chemical cleaning.

When making a selection, the specific specifications and the type of resin used (such as vinyl ester resin with better corrosion resistance) need to be determined based on the actual load-bearing requirements, the type and concentration of corrosive media.

FAQ

What is FRP angle used for?

FRP angle is used for structural support, framing, and reinforcement in industrial environments.

Is FRP angle stronger than steel?

FRP offers high strength-to-weight ratio and performs better in corrosive environments.

What is the difference between equal and unequal FRP angle?

Equal angles have identical sides, while unequal angles have different side lengths for flexible design.

Can FRP angles be customized?

Yes, we provide full customization based on size, thickness, and application requirements.
