Products Description
Fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP) circulating pipes are composite material pipes made primarily of resin, glass fiber, and quartz sand. They possess excellent corrosion resistance, are lightweight yet high-strength, and have a long service life, making them widely used in circulating water systems, chemical, power, and oilfield applications.
Strong Corrosion Resistance: Suitable for high-salt, strong acid and alkaline media (such as seawater, chlorinated wastewater, hydrochloric acid, etc.), avoiding the electrochemical corrosion problems of metal pipes.
Customizable Inner Liner: The inner lining can be customized (e.g., vinyl ester resin or polyvinylidene fluoride resin) to further enhance high-temperature resistance (up to 120℃) and chemical corrosion resistance.
Excellent Hydraulic Characteristics: The smooth inner wall (roughness coefficient only 0.0084) reduces frictional resistance by more than 30% compared to steel pipes, allowing for smaller pipe diameters or lower pump power for the same flow rate, resulting in significant energy savings.
No Scaling Issues During Long-Term Use, Maintaining Stable Flow Rate.
Lightweight, High-Strength, and Long Service Life: Weighing only 1/4 of steel pipes and 1/10 of concrete pipes, facilitating transportation and installation.
Designed for a 50-year lifespan, with low maintenance costs (no anti-corrosion coating or cathodic protection required).
Outstanding economic benefits: Although the initial investment is relatively high (e.g., approximately RMB 11,600/meter for DN3000 pipe), it saves 30%~40% on pump energy consumption and is maintenance-free, resulting in lower overall costs than metal pipes.
Example: A nuclear power plant's circulating water system using fiberglass pipes saved approximately RMB 42.68 million in electricity costs over 50 years.
Typical applications:
Industrial circulating water systems: Cooling water transport in nuclear power plants and thermal power plants, resistant to seawater corrosion and high temperature differences.
Chemical wastewater discharge pipelines: Transporting acidic and alkaline wastewater (e.g., 30% hydrochloric acid, chlorine-containing media), replacing carbon steel lined with plastic.
Oilfield water injection and gathering: Transporting high-mineralization formation water, resistant to soil salinization (Middle Eastern oilfield application case).
Fluorescent gas desulfurization and environmental protection projects: Chimney exhaust pipes adopt anti-static design (lined with graphite flakes or built-in alloy conductive wires).
With its advantages of corrosion resistance, energy saving, and long service life, fiberglass circulating pipes have become the preferred solution for transporting corrosive media.
