Fiberglass vertical storage tanks are upright cylindrical containers primarily used for storing liquid media under normal or low pressure.
Products Description
Our vertical FRP vessels are high-performance fiberglass reinforced plastic tanks designed for industrial liquid storage. As a professional FRP vertical tank manufacturer and fiberglass vertical tank supplier, we provide custom solutions with excellent corrosion resistance, lightweight construction, and long service life. These tanks are widely used in chemical, water treatment, food, and industrial applications.
A vertical FRP vessel is a fiberglass reinforced plastic tank designed for storing chemicals, acids, alkalis, wastewater, and other industrial liquids. Compared to steel tanks, FRP vessels offer superior corrosion resistance and reduced maintenance costs. Our industrial vertical FRP tanks use advanced filament winding technology to ensure strength, durability, and long-term reliability.

I. Core Features:
* Vertical Structure: Saves floor space.
* Large Capacity: Volumes range from a few cubic meters to hundreds, and even thousands of cubic meters.
* Non-Pressure Bearing (Main Body): It primarily withstands the static pressure of the liquid, not the high pressure from the process system. Its top is usually open to the atmosphere or only has a breather valve.
II. Main Advantages
* 1. Excellent Corrosion Resistance (Core Advantage): Customized resin systems (such as epoxy resin, unsaturated polyester, vinyl ester resin) can be tailored to the chemical properties of the stored medium (acids, alkalis, salts, organic solvents, etc.) to achieve the most economical and longest-lasting corrosion protection.
2. Lightweight and High-Strength: Weighing only 1/4 to 1/5 of carbon steel, it facilitates transportation and installation. Simultaneously, its high specific strength allows it to withstand the static pressure of the medium and certain external loads.
3. Long Service Life: Under suitable application conditions, the designed service life can reach over 20 years, with extremely low maintenance costs. 4. Flexible Design, Easy Molding
Accessories such as agitators, level gauges, ladders, and platforms can be easily added. Extra-large storage tanks can be fabricated on-site using a winding process.
5. Smooth Inner Wall, Less Prone to Scaling
The smooth inner surface facilitates cleaning and drainage, resulting in low fluid resistance.
III. Structural Composition:
A typical fiberglass vertical storage tank usually consists of the following parts:
1. Inner Liner
This is the key layer for corrosion resistance and leak prevention. It is usually composed of a resin-rich layer and chopped fiber mat, with a resin content of over 90%, forming a dense barrier.
2. Structural Layer
Also known as the strength layer, it is made of continuous fiberglass winding and provides the main mechanical strength of the tank to withstand hydraulic pressure, wind loads, snow loads, seismic loads, etc. Its thickness is determined by calculation.
3. Outer Protective Layer
Rich in resin and with added UV absorbers, it protects the structural layer from atmospheric aging, especially from sunlight and wind and rain. 4. Accessories
5. Tank Top: Usually domed (conical or spherical), with vents and manholes.
6. Tank Bottom: Flat or slightly tapered for easy emptying.
7. Interfaces: Inlet, outlet, overflow, vent, manhole, sight glass, level gauge interface, etc.
8. External Structure: Ladders, platforms (for large storage tanks).
IV. Main Application Areas
1. Chemical Industry: Storage of various corrosive chemicals such as acids, alkalis, salt solutions, and organic intermediates.
2. Environmental Water Treatment:
Wastewater Treatment: Equalization tanks, neutralization tanks, aeration tanks, sludge storage tanks.
Pure Water/Ultrapure Water: Pure water tanks, reverse osmosis water tanks.
3. Metallurgy and Power Industry: Desulfurization tower slurry tanks, circulating water treatment tanks, pickling solution storage tanks.
4. Food and Beverage Manufacturing: Storage of soy sauce, vinegar, wine, and fruit juice.
5. Paper Industry: Storage of pulp and various pharmaceutical solutions.
V. Standards and Specifications
Chinese Standard: JC/T 587-1995 "Glass Fiber Wound Reinforced Plastic Storage Tanks"
International Standards:
ASTM D3299: Standard specification for glass fiber wound polyester resin chemical storage tanks (atmospheric pressure).
BS 4994: British standard for the design and manufacture of reinforced plastic containers and tanks.
ASME RTP-1: Specification for reinforced thermosetting plastic equipment; this is a very authoritative and stringent design and manufacturing standard.
