Pipezy Composite Materials Huaneng Zhengning Power Plant Thickening Tower Project Successfully Completed
Recently, the No. 2 thickening tower project of Gansu Zhengning Huaneng Power Plant, undertaken by Pipezy Composite Materials was officially announced as successfully completed.
The thickening tower, with a diameter of 4.5 meters and a height of 20 meters, is a core piece of equipment in the power plant's desulfurization system. The project adopted a high-performance fiberglass integrated molding process, overcoming the limitations of traditional materials in terms of corrosion resistance, structural strength, and service life. The Pipezy Composite Materials technical team used 3D modeling for precise pre-assembly and innovatively applied a segmented modular hoisting scheme, achieving millimeter-level docking accuracy and effectively solving the industry challenge of assembling large-sized towers at high altitudes.
"After the thickening tower is put into operation, it can help the power plant reduce sulfur dioxide emissions by more than 800 tons annually," said the project leader. "Its 20-year maintenance-free characteristic will significantly reduce the power plant's operating costs."
